Mui Ne is a nice resort area in Phan Thiet, near Ho Chi Minh City. Besides the fishing village and the 15km long strip of resorts shades by coconut palms, you can find this unique place called Fairy Stream (Suoi Tien). It’s actually a little river that winds its way through bamboo forests, boulders and the dunes behind the village. The picturesque part is due to the large red sand dunes that engulf one side of the stream and the white sandstone stalagmites that are formed. I love the scene of the stalagmites formation contrasted by the bright orange colour of the red sand. And it was also nice walking on the soft sand along the warm water of the stream. Kids would definitely love it!!
Why do they call it Fairy Stream? A travel web mentioned this : “Suoi Tien is known to be the mysterious stream where legend has it that a woodcutter being lost in the forest after several days looking for water, he then found a stream. While trying to get his water, he saw some beautiful fairies taking bath just near by and since then, the place was named Suoi Tien – Fairy stream.”
